They try to fight their pull towards each other, both to protect themselves, their daughter, and their respective relationships. But sometimes, life pushes you together for a reason; you just have to have the courage to take that leap of faith. Everyone else can see that Tracey and Steve belong together, but will they trust each other enough to take a chance at love again? Or will they keep their relationship a friendly one, focused on raising and loving their daughter?

Meredith is a wretched biotch. The author did an excellent job with the timeline of this book. Everything flows well, and you get the info from the past when you need it. And in just the right amounts. And without giving away too much too soon. Kudos to you, Ms. It makes you feel that good! Jun 22, Romancing Susan Monti rated it really liked it.

Inky Inspiration – Barrett

I super love the last chapter of this book. The lump on my throat was was so big, I thought I was going to choke on it. I love reading second chance love and this book has not disappoint me. When her mother suffers a debilitating illness and faces a lengthy recovery, family takes on a whole new meaning for Tracey as she find I super love the last chapter of this book. I love the simplicity of this story. Steve, who kinda knows what he wants, but just don't know how to go about it. As I have said, very realistic, so many guys out there, knowing what they want but not really know how to get what they want.

I mean, Steve is obviously brilliant as a lawyer, Just a dork on his personal life. He is in an alright guy though, thoughtful in fact. Just needs to be pushed in the right direction. That the story was not all about just Tracy and Steve. Not all drama and gooey stuff but also about friendship. Call me a freak, but I really liked the fact that there was no sex scenes on this book. Sometimes, lust just masks what the true story is all about. This book a true vision of what love should be. I love the title, makes us want jump and dive into life. This was a good book although the beginning wasn't as interesting as the second half, but all in all a good story. Tracey is raising her 11 yr. She is a law professor at NIC a local college. Her longtime boyfriend, and Lindsey's father, Steve, is also a practicing Lawyer in a prominent law firm about an hour away.

Their relationship was always up and down until two years ago she saw him kiss another woman at their christmas party. Even though he told her it was nothing she broke off their relationship. Not to long after that another lawyer in the firm started chasing Steve.

Merideth and Steve started a relationship and her proposed to her, so Tracey figures its time to get over Steve and move on. Her mother, Dorothy has a stroke and it puts her into a coma. Tracey and her mom were never very close and she hadn't seen a lot of her in recent years. She went to the hospital and found her brother, Brian, and her sister, Kim, at her mothers side.

She always felt like the outcast of the family. The doctor suggests maybe music might bring her out of her coma, but they said she never liked music, only Tracey's song she sang in high school, Leap of Faith. So Tracey starts to sing to her mom and she does have a reaction so they try it some more and slowly she comes out of her coma.

You will enjoy this story as Tracey finds out a secret about the chrismas party that broke up her and Steve and some more things that happen in Steve's life. I enjoyed it and was happy not to have to think too much about what was going on.

The side characters really helped with the flow of the story. It was nice to see Tracey and Steve being the hands on parents that Lindsey needed. Even if things were complicated in their lives and in their relationship, their main focus was their daughter. I also liked the whole Diana storyline and that things were not as black and white as they first appeared. This book really was a joy to read and I recommend it to anyone who loves a second chance at love. The title really hits the nail on the head; sometimes you have to stop listening to your head and follow what your heart is telling you.

Leap of faith - Wikipedia

We all can relate to choosing paths of regret and wishing we could find our way back to the starting line. Sometimes we can and sometimes we can't. Fortunately, this is a story where you can relive the "can". I really enjoyed Leap of Faith, there was no crazy sex and no emotional exhaustion. It was a book on the lighter side for those who just want to read about relationships and life.

Reading Short Stories: Where To Start

Tracey and Steve have "Leap of Faith" is a wonderful and refreshing story about second chances in love and life. Tracey and Steve have a lot of background over their 12 years of existence with each other. They have both made a lot of mistakes driving them down opposite roads while still maintaining a superficial relationship for the sake of their daughter. Tracy tries very hard to make single parenthood work for herself and Steve tries to respect her stubbornness, but sometimes your heart does not always agree with your mind.

What was so special about this story is it was not just about second chances between Tracey and Steve. There was another relationship more vital in Tracey's life requiring mending that was the root of her mental emotion. We can all agree, a mother's relationship with a her daughter is the rock to everybody's story. Without our mothers we would all have a piece missing from our life's journey and in Tracey's life, she could not let go or be happy. I hope everybody will take the time to read Leap of Faith, we all can relate to Tracey's story at some point in our lives and appreciate a story about second chances in life and love.

I rate Leap of Faith 5 incredible stars. Thank you to One More Chapter for reaching out for a tour opportunity. I read the blurb and I wanted to read more. This book was definitely one that I needed to read and it came at the perfect time. I had been reading sweet and virtually drama free romances this week and this one had just enough drama that I loved it even more. When Tracey's mother becomes ill and she returns to be with her family, she is hesitant because of a strained relationship with her. However, when her mothe Sarah's Review: However, when her mother surprises the family with who has power of attorney in a situation like this, she does the right thing and takes part in the decision making with her brother.

When Tracey's ex and her daughter's father shows up at the hospital, Tracey isn't sure why he showed up. Steve gets a call from Brian, Tracey's brother, to reschedule a court case because of their mother's illness and he knows that he needs to show up at the hospital. Steve is there for Tracey and Lyndsey when they need him and even when they don't realize they need him. Even though Tracey and Steve are no longer a couple, they still have feelings that neither completely want to acknowledge until the truth comes out about what happened to end the relationship two years ago.

When the truth comes out, there is drama but with all drama, the truth prevails and things can end up being corrected. Jun 29, M. J rated it really liked it. The book is well written but I thought there was something lacking in the connection between the two main characters. They were in a relationship, had a child together and have separated. Tracy is single and lives alone with their 11 yr old daughter, while Steve is in a relationship with a co-worker.

Throughout the book, both parties have shown that they have not completely let each other go, be it her always going to him when she is down or in need of comfort in some way, or him always going to her when she needs him.

And, as they do have a child together, it is to be expected that they share that connection. But, what didn't feel right to me was the way they interacted with one another. They are supposedly still in love but while they each think of the other, for me, there wasn't much of this connection that they are supposed to have. I didn't feel it. There was some jealousy on her part, going on a date with the hunky doctor when she realised how much he has moved on, but other than that, it felt somewhat stale.

That didn't last throughout the story, however, it did pick and get better and it was a really lovely romance story. May 14, sue rated it really liked it. I hadn't read the previous lead up to this book, so although I sort of jumped in at the deep end, it was still fine. I would have liked to have known the previous history but still enjoyed this lovely book.

Michele Shriver, I have a couple of her books that I intended to 'get around to reading' but never did. I joined a blog tour and agreed to read and review this book.

I don't know why I've waited such a long time to read her other books because going on this one, I am sure to enjoy them. This k I hadn't read the previous lead up to this book, so although I sort of jumped in at the deep end, it was still fine. This kept me interested practically all day. I loved the chemistry between the two of them. Although I could guess what would happen, it still didn't take away the enjoyment of my reading. I was shocked at who became the power of attorney though.

That was a turn up for the books, but I later understood why. At first based around her Mother who is severely ill in hospital, on her death bed really, no one knowing if she is going to survive or not, that kept me riveted. Loved the book, highly recommended. Jun 28, Stephanie Marshall rated it really liked it. This book follows the story of Steve and Tracey. But I am getting ahead of myself. This throws Tracey also back into a world that includes her ex-Steve. The problem now is the Steve is engaged to someone else. This is a story with love, romance, heartbreak, family, second chances and taking a leap of faith.

Once I started it this morning I couldn't put it down till the end. If you love to read books about getting a second chance at love then this is the book for you. To me, the synopsis says it all but I loved seeing the story play out between Tracey and Steve. When you learn the details of what really happened the night she ended it your jaw will drop but it didn't surprise me one bit.

After all the hurt and pain that they have both been thru, will they be able to put past hurts behind them and take a leap of faith into a new future together? A second chance at happiness As I read this book i felt a little weary as I noticed similarities to my own experiences especially with regards to my relationship with my mother. It was five-fifteen on Friday afternoon. The summer sun was still high enough to keep the air warm on this cloudless and calm day, which to Fiona boded well, for this was the start of a two week vacation to that she had been looking forward to for some time. Thirty-three, living alone and, as she told her few friends, loving the peace and solitude after the pressures of work and daily life in the city, Fiona socialised only occasionally, had few friends outside of the office and seemed content with her routine existence without too much variety or undue excitement.

As she sat listening to the familiar sounds as the last passengers hurried on board, the gangway was raised and the Mate signalled that he was ready to cast off. There was a whistle as the stern rope was freed, the engine noise rose a level and the ferry started to move slowly forward.

Another whistle from the Mate as he cleared the bow rope and a further increase in vibration as the propellers bit in and speed increased. She saw him out of the corner of her eye and turned to watch as he sprinted down the wharf towards the departing ferry. I happened all the time - someone running a little late tried to leap on at the last possible moment before the ferry cleared the pier. Sometimes they made it, grabbing one of the poles that held up the canopy over the stern and swinging aboard.

Most times they measured the speed and distance and gave up - electing to catch the next sailing in half an hour. On rare occasions they jumped, missed and fell into the water, momentarily causing consternation on the wharf, embarrassment to the would-be passenger and some merriment to the few on the ferry that were actually in a position to see it happen.

He seemed to hesitate for a split second as the pointed rear of the ferry swung back against the wharf when the bow rope was freed.
