If any changes are considered for future revisions, this should be one, in order to at least better enable the reader student to visualize each of the comparisons, the authors are trying to explain. I have held on to the book for I used the book for graduate studies and it was great. I have held on to the book for future reference. This book was very helpful during my course and I will refer back to it throughout my career. The program planning refers to the social work context. Where a social worker might typically have a patient or client and has to devise a solution to that person's predicament.
The book wants the reader to appreciate all the dimensions of complexity, and to involve all stakeholders. Usually solving a patient's problem implies that others can be involved. Family, extended family, friends, medical or social work personnel and others. In this sense, perhaps, it differs from say a psychiatrist treating a patient. The text is about the implications of "social" in social work. The read is largely nontechnical, and should be accessible to new students in social work.
